The modern hotel was a result of the inn of the 17th century. The medieval hotels were a part of European culture to provide temporary shelter to travelers. Abandoned resorts possess an intriguing appeal, whether they’re perched on top of the mountain or hidden within the city. Hotels where lavish guests rested now decay beneath a blanket of dust and dirt. Paint peels away from the walls, and the elements come in to eat away at the remnants. Although these resorts are no longer a magnet for masses of people seeking spa treatments and leisure, many retain their peace and tranquility.
In crumbling, decaying, or wholly absorbed with nature, the abandoned structures are as scary as exciting, and hotels are no exception.
