Conrad Tan passionate wildlife photographer in San Francisco, California traveled to Minnesota to shoot the local wildlife. He was lucky enough to have a rare encounter with a black timber wolf and captured a series of breathtaking photographs in their natural habitat.
In a series of spectacular photos, taken during the winter time, Tan shows us the beauty and elegance of this magnificent creature. Their beautiful black fur makes a wonderful sharp contrast with the pristine white snow.
The black wolf’s dark coat is a result of a genetic mutation that increases the dark pigmentation of its skin. Even though they have a black fur coat, they are still part of the gray wolf family. Their black colors vary from one to another, depending on their location.
According to Native American mythology the black wolf is also known as the “spirit wolf,” arrives with a warning message that major life lesson is about to unfold.
However, Tan’s these photographs of the black wolf may be his most stunning work yet.
