Hungary-based fine art photographer Flora Borsi creates stunning surreal self-portraits in which she replaces her right eye with the eyes of various animals. In this unique image series titled “Animeyed,” animals and the photographer become one in her complex concepts with universal emotions, such as love, passion, longing, and grief. She was inspired to make this photo manipulation series after taking a selfie with her dog.
Flora Borsi showcases her creativity and an undeniable talent using a camera and editing skills in this combination of art and nature. She cleverly displays the uniqueness and beauty of the animals with similarities between the human and animal features to remind us to treat all animals with respect. Her images are so fascinating that she carefully sets her makeup and costume to match her animal subjects as well. She says each art piece takes between 15–20 hours, including the hairdo, makeup, stock image research, composition, and, of course, the shoot itself.
Explaining those startling images with words is impossible, let her images to speak for themselves and please enjoy the amazing manipulations.
