Internet has been overflowing with the news pertaining to Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial since the Early March. Actor Johnny Depp who played captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise became the cynosure of all media platforms cum global community due to this high-profile trial. It was Mr Depp who filed this lawsuit against Amber Heard on defaming his character through an op-ed she wrote about domestic abuse back in 2018. However, during the trial that has been taken place since 12 March it seems that tides are changing. Earlier upon majority of Depp’s fans openly criticized him when Amber wrote the op-ed and revealed what he has done to her during their short-lived marriage. However, revelations from the trial indicates that actually it is not Amber who were subjected to the domestic abuse but Johnny throughout the marriage.
With this shocking revelation, fans around the world have started to follow and praise Johnny Depp and he has been able to regain his lost popularity. However, the domestic abuse claims from Amber cost Johnny of acting in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie as producers did not want him to further take part in the franchise. At the end of his patience, Johnny decided to brin the case to court and on the way for three more weeks. According to what has been revealed so far, Johnny Depp was subjected to series of abuses by Amber Heard. Upon the revelation, terrified Johnny Depp fans launched a worldwide petition demanding Amber’s removal from her role “Mera” from the movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. By 3rd May 2022 the petition was signed by whopping amount of 3 million people across the globe.
