Rings of the Power Receives Mixed Reviews Amidst Rating Suspension

It is always an arduous task to produce a prequel for a movie or a TV Series that has a good critic and audience acceptance. Better Call Saul was one of the success stories in that sense as the audience worldwide gave better ratings are the prequel to Netflix series Breaking Bad which is regarded as one of the best shows in television history. However, Amazon Primes’ Rings of the Power does not seem to enjoy that luck as Amazon Prime had to suspend the user ratings owing to massive number of negative critics from the “review bombers”.

The show is regarded as the most expensive TV series in the history of television and estimated budget exceed $1 Billion. The show debuted its first two episodes on 2 September 2022 and now receiving loads of negative critics from the review bombers. The reason for this occurrence is because of the diverse cast of the TV series. For the first time in a Tolkien screen project, character Silvan elf Arondir is played by a person of color. Due to this diverse cast, it was anticipated that the TV series would review bombed like they did for “She-Hulk”

“The Rings of Power” currently has 34 percent average audience score on Rotten Tomatoes compared to 87% critic’s score. When Amazon released a poster of this multicultural cast, they faced same fate as fans slams and trolled the cast based on their gender and race. It seems that most of the fans have fantasy characters in Tolkien screen project that they do not like to see stereotypes.
