The wizard’s Land of Oz, an Abandoned Theme Park at Beech Mountain, North Carolina

What would be the first things comes in to your mind if someone asked about theme park. Most probably the ‘Disney Land” or “Jurassic world” may at very first with no doubt.

Apart from that, we found an interesting theme park which also build based on a famous movie. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience if you could converse with the characters of a movie, visit their homes, and witness different scenes from the film live.

The “Land of Oz” was opened in North Carolina in the 1970s as a tribute to the legendary “Wizard of Oz” film and L. Frank Baum’s novels. Zelus365 has found some facts about this and would like to share them with you.

After five years of operation, a sudden fire damaged two stores and a restaurant. Still, it was suspected that theft was responsible for the disappearance of numerous costumes worn by Judy Garland in her film roles. The park couldn’t get back on its feet, so it closed in 1980, just ten years after it first opened. The park was reopened in 1991.

You can either use the ski lift in the shape of a hot air balloon or walk down the Yellow Brick Road, which has 44,000 actual yellow bricks.

Don’t forget to stop by Dorothy’s house, the film’s main character. One interesting fact is Dorothy’s house actually wasn’t modelled after Dorothy’s house in the movie. Still, it was based on the painting American Gothic. Uncle Henri will greet you warmly in the movie before you go into the old house.

It's a scary witch that comes out of one side of the house, laughs loudly, and then disappear again. Her acting genuinely impresses me a bit.

Then you can start walking down the yellow brick road, where you will find many things.

First, you'll come to Munchkin City, where the mayor will greet you.

The main characters, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Lion, and that horrible witch with her flying monkeys, meet up with other characters along the way and can talk to them. This is hilarious, and the actors do their job fantastically. You may be more impressed than you expected to be.

Amazing experience. The witch is waiting for you in front of the castle. Wow, those actors! There were times when they captured the gestures, facial expressions, and sounds of the movie characters perfectly!

“Bell is out of order. Please knock it.” After that, only you can enter. Wow, it is funny.

This is a historical place to have memorable and fun adventures and maybe a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
