The museum has three main parts. The green mount, the building and the void. The green hill like mound represents the earth. The elliptical-shaped building represents humanity. The void represents the unknown future that lies ahead.

This museum facade is made out of stainless steel and covered with Arabic calligraphy quotes. This is the only building in the world with a surface entirely covered in calligraphy art or a language. The Arabic calligraphy that covers the building functions as windows and as well as decoration. These windows allow natural daylight to seep into the column-free interior.

The Arabic calligraphy decorating the gleaming silver oval surface is based on three quotes from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE. These inspiring poetics are his visions of the future and reflect the museum’s aim. The words written on the museum can roughly translate to as follows.

1-We may not live for hundreds of years, but the products of our creativity can leave a legacy long after we are gone

2- The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It isn’t something you await but rather create.

3- Innovation is not an intellectual luxury. It is a secret behind the evolution and rejuvenation of nations and people.
